DC Housing Search - Day One
My horoscope for today must have read, “Transportation will be a headache.” Both Lincolnland Express and Enterprise rent-a-car (but don’t actually use it) managed to make my life difficult. I suppose I could blame United also, for canceling the flight I was on standby for due to being delivered late by afore-mentioned (and multiply-cursed) Lincolndland express. But United has already been reduced to begging for loans from Uncle Sam, so I’ll take it easy on them.
Anyhow, I’ve arrived in D.C. I’m typing this at a free cybercafe near DuPont Circle where I took my very first tour of a D.C. apartment. I wasn’t overly impressed, although the septuagenarian who showed me the place was pretty cool. I’ve uploaded some pictures (taken on my new cell phone, because the batteries on the digital camera are dead and I didn’t bring the recharger.) of the apartment. It’s $980 a month, utils included, and I think it’s overpriced, even though the location is great.
Well, I gotta check my email and move my car before it gets towed.
