Day one as a 1L

I’m so tired. I’ve worked almost constantly from 6:30 this morning till 5 minutes ago (1:00am by my clock). And I’m still behind, a little. Also, I was late to my first and third classes. I worked in the library till 10 or so tonight, then had the incredible pleasure of a 30 minute delay on the metro ride back. And a guy who noticed the huge Torts textbook (which I was carrying because I can’t fit all my books in my backpack) told me that “We need more new surgeons, not more new attorneys”. He might be right - it’s obvious someone needs to remove his nose from my business.

Off to dremaland, where no doubt I will dream about broken wheels and extract of dandelion.

I guess he was either a M.D. or a hypocrite; I’m going to choose door #2.

People who see me carrying my law books make comments to me all the time. There’s a homeless guy I pass on the way to school everyday, and he usually yells out “Hey lawyer!” to me as I pass by, unless he’s busy playing his trumpet. But I’ve never had anyone make rude comments to me like the one that guy made to you!

Oh, and, the mouthwash bottle idea is brilliant.
